The Blended Program for Managers

When a small number of your managers need personal attention but also have needs that are common across the group, our unique blended approach will help.

A SAMPLE ENGAGEMENT

We start with the ‘Due Diligence’ phase, where we understand, document and validate the learning needs of the nominated managers. In the first session of the program, your managers understand the program’s context and design, what the learning objectives are for each of them, and what is expected of them. The program, which can last for 3 to 4 months, will have joint sessions where common needs are addressed through training modules of 3 hours each. These are interspersed with 1-on-1 hour-long mentoring sessions where the manager’s unique needs can be addressed.

Support by the company’s leaders and the mentor and the opportunity for the managers to apply what they learn in their work are some of the success factors for this program. Chosen managers should have the right mindset too. They should:

  • believe that mentorship will help (in other words, trust in the process)
  • want to learn, be willing to share and be able to articulate
  • trust the mentor
  • stay committed to the process

These blended initiatives have the following benefits and outcomes:

  • Managers gain in self-awareness through reflection and confidence from actual progress made.
  • Managers enhance their skills and form desirable habits through practice.
  • Managers experience a change in their mindsets and assumptions they may have about their role.
  • Managers experience a greater level of engagement, a vital component of career development.
  • High-potential managers are able to address the few rough edges that may be holding them back from the next level of responsibility and impact.

This blended approach has been executed successfully in 3 companies in Chennai and Bangalore. Here’s what our clients had to say about these blended initiatives:

Ravi is a fantastic mentor and Congruent feels privileged to have had the opportunity to work with him. He is committed and observations are spot on. Ravi quoted many examples and ideas to use with all clients, as well as additional ideas on ways to add more value and connect even more with them. He is very systematic and diligent, guided us in articulating the needs and suggested a clear review mechanism, Joint Status Reports, that helped us to understand the progress updates for both mentees as well as Congruent.

Ravi spent about 3 months at Cadgraf coaching our budding project managers in classroom and one-on-one sessions. Ravi was smart, knowledgeable, and capable. His biggest contribution was crossing management training from the theoretical to the practical and showing how it wasn’t just important to know what to say or do – but to also experience the discomfort, risk, and uncertainty of saying or doing it.
